Tour Group Information Location We are conveniently located right on Route 100, just 3 1/2 miles north off Interstate 89 Exit 10. This section of highway, known as "Enticement Alley", has become extremely popular due to the assembly of attractions along the route. Ben & Jerry's, Cabot Cheese, Green Mountain Chocolates, Mesa Pottery, Zeimke's Glass Blowing, Cold Hollow, the town of Stowe, Mt. Mansfield Gondola, and several other points of interest all lie in a ten mile section of highway. It's no wonder it is the busiest tourist highway in the state.
| Groups Here at the Mill we have a 30 year tradition of catering to tour groups. Although we see up to 30 coaches a day during the peak season, we treat each group with personal attention. The moment you enter the grounds, a guide hops right on your coach (usually the owner or a manager). We do a brief history and highlights of the Mill en route to the Press room, where we all enjoy a taste of Fresh Apple Cider during an entertaining and informative talk on how our cider is made. We then turn the group loose in the store, where they can browse, shop, or sample some of our many goodies. Tour Groups especially like the Mill because of the flat, easy access throughout the parking lot and stores, our handicapped accessibility, and our great bathrooms. We have lots of small, trinket style gifts, such as refrigerator magnets, for easy stowing on the coaches. We also make sure that each coach departs with a stack of Mail Order Catalogues.
| Highlights We press cider year round, two to four days a week in the summer, and seven days a week beginning in early September. On occasion, we will be making Cider Jelly, firing up our evaporator in the jelly room. We have a live Bee Observation Hive in our honey section, which is quite mesmerizing to watch. Our natural foods Bakery continually cranks out taste treats such as apple pies, pumpkin rolls, granola bars, turnovers, and cookies. The overwhelming aroma at the Mill comes from our legendary Cider Donuts, featured in Gourmet Magazine as one of the top four donuts in the country! We offer tons of Pure Vermont Maple Syrup, as well as Vermont made Cheddar Cheese. All this happens in our sprawling general store filled with specialty foods and Vermont-made gifts and crafts. In our Apple Core Connection store, 50 feet across the driveway, the Grand View Winery offers wine and hard cider tasting. We produce several varieties of Fudge on site, which of course is available for tasting. Johnson Woolen Mills is there also, offering toasty and comfy clothing. As you can see, there's never a shortage of things to do, see, or taste!
| Group Leader Benefits Each group leader and driver are offered a free coffee and donut, as well as a 20% discount on all your purchases. Wearing your complimentary Cold Hollow apple lanyard will let the salespeople know that you are a group leader.
